Rafiki's Rantings

I fell on Sunday.

I fell the other day. Mom was in the basement with AnnaDee and Hershey. I went down the stairs, and said I wanted in, but Mom thought I should stay with Benjamin and play with him. I've been spending a lot of time with the Meezers but not much time with Benjamin. So, off I went upstairs. Well, I don't remember what happened exactly, but Mom says there was a big boombadeeboom noise. Ben and I often make those noises when we wrestle and chase, but luckily Mommy always checks.

When she opened the basement door and looked, I was sitting on the top stair. I wasn't sitting up straight though, I was leaning onto the stair and was trying to reach with my right foreleg to set it down, but I couldn't. I cried for Mom. Mom ran up the stairs and tried to see what was wrong, but I pulled away. I wasn't walking right, and I was weaving.

Mom ran to the phone to call the vet. When she got off, I was sitting down like normal. She came over, and I yelled at her like usual. Then I got up and was walking okay. Mommy hugged me and kissed me and then she felt all over for bumps, lumps, broken bones and bruises. Mommy says I must have have fallen through the stairs onto the stairs below while wrestling or chasing Benjamin. It's not a place I like to hang out, so I wouldn't have fallen asleep or rolled over or anything.

She's been watching me real closely since Sunday, and luckily, I seem to be okay.

What is going on?

I was just napping away on the heated window perch when all of a sudden I was scared awake by loud booming. I looked out the window and saw flashing light and then the rain ... Isn't it November, or am I still dreaming.
