Can you believe it?! This morning I was following Mom as she was getting our breakfasts ready when she started doing this weird dance step and then she kicked me! She said she was not dancing, that I tripped her and caused her to stumble and stomp on me as she tried to right herself. I ran! Then I stopped and licked the sore spot. She came after me, and I ran away. I ran upstairs, and she followed me till she trapped me on the bed. She apologized profusely and hugged me and gave me kissies. I was scared. I was pretty sure she did it on purpose. Finally, I purred my acceptance of her apologies. As long as she knows it was her fault, and she never does it again ...

I have decided this week that I really need to clean Mommy's ears. I used to just snuffle around in her ears and make her laugh. Human's have strange ears, and I really did not know how to go about cleaning them. Lately, I started jamming my nose in her ear to better investigate. This weekend I decided that I finally just needed to get to work and give it a go. So, in the middle of the night, after working on Hershey's ears, I went over to Mommy. I snuffled around her ear and moved her hair out of the way. She said "Rafiki go to sleep", but I said 'no it's time to clean your ear'. So I persisted and tried to give her ear a lick and bite the edge, and she said 'Rafiki stop!' I meowed at her. She said "Rafiki, sssshhhhh!" . So I did sssshhhh, but I didn't stop purring, and I just stood over her and would not lie down. I tried a couple more times to get at her ear, but she wouldn't let me. Finally, I gave up. I have kept trying the past few nights, but she won't let me near her ears. I just don't understand. Hershey, AnnaDee and Ben all like a good ear cleaning. What is wrong with Mommy?

Mommy finally got my birthday present just before she went on vacation. You know she totally forgot my birthday. So anyway, she got me this present called a 'Wubba'. It looks kind of like an octopus but with only four legs. It makes noise and has catnip in it. The legs make crinkle noises. It's light blue. I don' t like it. Mom thought I might like chewing on the legs. You know I didn't like last year's present either. Mom is really lousy at choosing presents. :-(
