Arrival Story:
I don't remember how I got to the Oregon Humane Society. One day I looked out the window and saw a line of 5 people in the snow waiting for the place to open. As soon as the doors opened up this nice lady came running over to me and said she wanted to try me out. They put us in a private room to play. She kept dangling things for me to play with but all I wanted to do was purr and snuggle. She was soft and warm. Next thing I know I am back in the room and she is sitting outside and waiting. I cried and cried at the window and she kept saying "just a few minutes more." I even tried to escape out the door to get back to her. Finally they put me in a box and we went to my new home. It smelled like other cats. I explored all over and found that the best place to hang out is wherever my mom is.

Bio:
Mom constantly teases me about my high pitched kitten voice. She says its strange coming from such a big boy. She loves it!! She also loves my fur which is super soft. Like bunny fur she says. I love my home and my sister Lulu. In case you were wondering, I rule the house. I am large and in charge and mom gives me whatever I want!

I am a scaredy cat now

Hello Catsterland!! We have been having some wild weather lately. Lots of wind and rain. I have always been afraid of the wind and do NOT like being out in it. I have some outdoor privileges as many of you know. On windy days I will usually stick my nose out and then immediately run to the couch for a nap. One day last week it seemed quiet enough so I went outside. Next thing mom knows I am tearing in the door and right downstairs to the guest bedroom closet to hide. She looked and couldn't see anything. Then I ran back up and out the window and then to the back screen porch and then hiding again. Mom thinks a gust of wind came up and blew a branch down or something like that. Now I hardly go out at all. The past two days have been dry, calm and sunny but I won't go any further than the front step. Mom says she is OK with that since she wishes we never got into the habit out outside time at all. She knows we are always safer inside even though we have a pretty sweet and safe set up here. Mom is just a bit sad for me because I think I want to go out but then when the door is opened I am too scared.

In other exciting news, our stray Catcher Block, has been visiting again. He comes in the mid day and now that mom is home during the day we see him. Yesterday he came inside and played with the catnip toys. Then he napped for 1.5 hours. I was cool and took a nap in the cat tree. He seems like a pretty decent guy. He isn't trying to take over top cat position and he is nice to LuLu. He didn't come by today but he knows he always has a place to go where there is food, water and shelter.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Check out the Cat's Meow Blog for some info on pet safety during the holiday!

Mom's home...AGAIN?

Hi pals! Things have been a bit busy around our house lately. I seem to be saying that a lot. About 3 weeks ago mom started moving furniture around in the dining room. Then her friend came over and they took a bunch of furniture outside. It was kind of fun to have some open spaces to play in for a couple of days. The sparkle balls were flying.

Next, a bunch of new furniture came in the house and there were boxes everywhere. I thought they were fun but LuLu was scared. She said maybe we were moving. She has moved many times but I have only lived here. Luckily we did not move. Instead mom has started working from home. Her FT job will be ending at the end of the year but they went ahead and closed the office. So mom is now home....ALL THE TIME!

It's cool and all but a guys needs some private time. I like jumping on her desk and rubbing everything. I also like standing in front of the computer screen and put my rear in her face. tee hee LuLu is feeling better now that everything is organized. She still runs up to mom sitting at the desk, screams at her and then runs. Crazy girl.

Yesterday me and LuLu stayed downstairs in the bedrooms all day. It has been really windy and rainy so I have been stuck inside for 3 days straight. I am really bored today and want to play. Last week mom bought a new chair. Well, it's a vintage chair but new to her. She calls it her "little old lady" chair because it is small, orange and has fringe at the bottom. None of that sounds like mom's taste but she loves it. I love it too. I look so handsome against the dark orange. It is also really fun to get under it and play with the fringe. Today there is a stick monster around and he tries to get me under the fringe. I win everytime.

Well, time for my 11:00am nap. Mom moved our big carrier under her desk with a nice crate pad from Morgan’s Beds. It is the perfect place to nap by mom. Have a fantastic day my friends!!

Hi friends! I hope you all had a nice Halloween. I saw one kid and spent the rest of the night sleeping downstairs in my bedroom. Scary!!!

We had a busy weekend. Halloween, then Hello Kitty's 35th Birthday and then my mom's birthday today. Thanks to all my sweet friends for sending her good wishes. Guess what I gave her???? A cricket. I found it and trotted inside with it. Then, with my mouse closed tight on it, I cried the loudest meow mom had ever heard. Once that got her attention I dropped it and showed it off. Then it chirped and tried to move so I ate it. I am a cat after all. Mom was very pleased and gave me lots of pets.

Things are kind of different around her lately. Mom had her office furniture moved into our house and she is now working from home. I am having fun checking out all the new furniture and places to sleep. The printer is pretty fascinating too. The only thing I don't understand is why she is home so much but can't pet and pay attention to me the whole time. Her hands are always trying to type so I try to get under them. tee hee

If you get a chance, peek out at the cool full moon tonight.
