Arrival Story:
Thomas is a stray who kept showing up at the back door of a paint store where I used to work. Sometimes I couldn't wait for him to show up, so I'd stand outside the back door calling "Here, kitty, kitty!" and he'd eventually come running. After a week of this, it finally sunk in that he wanted a home. With the encouragement of a coworker (who knew I was in love with this cat before I admitted it to myself) I decided to give him one. Which was a crazy decision, because I had been diagnosed in childhood with an allergy to cats, and have always had a strong reaction to them. But I really did fall in love with the little guy (who was six months old at the time) and couldn't stand the thought that I might never see him again. (There was the real danger he might be run over by a car.) So I said "To hell with my allergies!" and as it turned out, I never did have an allergic reaction to Thomas. Love is an amazing medicine!

Vocals:
Thomas sounds more like a duck quacking than a cat meowing. The range of sounds he's capable of making is amazing. When he was young, and he'd see another cat through the window, he'd let out a yowl that sounded like a cross between a banshee screaming and a human baby crying. It sent shivers up my spine!
