If you don't have the means to get medical attention for animals in your care then you shouldn't keep animals. I am sorry you learned this the hard way at your kitten's expense...That is truly sad.

On this board, we call the questions as we see them, meaning if someone asks a medical question that we could not possibly know the answer to, we tell the people they need to see a vet. How could we possibly know why your kitten bled to death from its mouth? Your expectations that we would know why are unreasonable. When we adopt an animal, it is entirely dependent on us for it's health and well-being. One of those responsibilities is vet care. If you did not have the money for vet care when you adopted the cat, you never should have done so. We are sorry for your loss, but I know I speak for the others when I say that you should not even consider adopting another animal until your financial situation has stabilized and you can afford vet care for it.

After seeing the pictures of that poor deformed kitten....there's nothing I could possibly add to what Miss Meany and Atrus have said. You should be ashamed of yourself for allowing that kitten to suffer.

I answered your question and I stand firm, this kitten should have seen a vet when you first noticed he was having problems. Delayed motor skills, abnormal head size, bumping into things, doing circles and odd eyes are not signs of a healthy kitten. All signs of what I previous said, water of the brain and this poor kitten should not have suffered like that. I don't think anyone jumped to conclusions because obviously you didn't take him to the vet. You want a diagnosis of WHY your kitten died over the internet when the only person who could have done that is a vet. I do feel for people who can't afford vet care but I feel more so for the animals who have to suffer. If you can't afford medical treatment for a pet, give your animal to someone who can afford it, borrow the money, pawn the computer you typed this question on, take the kitten to the nearest animal shelter, ask a vet about a payment plan, etc. RIP little kitten.

When a kitten needs medical attention it needs it immediately, not when it is convenient or when you can afford it. It is determined by necessity. You need to have emergency funds you can use, a friend or relative you could borrow money from, or an emergency credit card to pay for vet care _when it is needed_. A kitten that needs medical attention cannot wait two weeks, as you now know. Too often people ask questions here about serious medical issues and want to know how they can fix it without spending any money. Well, kittens need medical attention when they are injured, sick, or dying just as people do. Not having money is not an excuse to let an animal suffer and then die as a result of negligence. If you cannot provide what an animal needs, do the responsible thing and do not have one. That is why you got the responses that you did.
