Why does my cat sleep on the end of my bed?

It is more stable at the end of the bed because when we sleep our upper body moves alot. So cats like a stable spot to curl up and not be bothered. So when your cat does come up to you when in bed it wants to be petted, then it will return to its spot at the end of the bed.
