Why does my cat have excessive meowing?

she constantly and repetitively meows if you speak to her, go into the kitchen, or walk into any room that she's in. Just wondering why she might be doing this.

Izadore (Izzie)

If you're certain she has no health issues, she's probably just a vocal cat. Izzie meows when his dog sisters go outside because he knows he'll get a treat, too. He also meows when he comes into a room and leaves the room. I think it's kinda neat. Sometimes he's the only one who pays any attention to me! I always get an answer when I speak (or sing) to him! Enjoy her talkativeness! Cats are great problem solvers and give wonderful advice! ;-)

She's probably just a vocal cat. I love vocal cats, but most of mine are Maine Coons, who don't tend to be talkative. When did you get Charlie? If fairly recently, she might be expressing insecurity or gratitude at finding a home. She may also have learned to be vocal if there were vocal cats in the shelter with her. Also, are you sure she can hear? If she were deaf, the shelter people would have told you, but deaf cats tend to be vocal. I'd just guess you have a chatty cat. Try chatting back. It's fun.
