Why does my cat act strangely when i whistle?
Why does my cat act strangely when i whistle? She taps my lips if she can reach them, else, she will gently bite my arm or leg. She doesn't act totaly hostile, but it's every single time i whistle, that she does this.

She probably just doesn't like the sound of it and it may be worrying her that you are making a 'strange noise'. Especially if you are off pitch :-)

Sounds like whistling or singing distress my Maggie too. She will march right up to me on the sofa and has even bitten my chin if I refuse to stop making that awful noise. Not in a mean way, just trying to make me stop. It must hurt her ears or else she thinks I am in distress and she needs to stop it. It doesn't bother the other 8 cats and Lucy even seems to like it if I sing so it's just a Maggie quirk. I am guessing your cat just shares this quirk.

It's high-pitched and squeaky! My Human likes to play her pan flutes and Irish penny-whistles and stuff, but I HATE it! I just jump up on her lap and knock that nasty flute right on the floor! I finallly trained her to go into the office and close the door if she wants to make "music". And she objects to me singing "MEMEMEMEME" when I see a birdy? Bleah. Humans just don't understand that we have very sensitive hearing.

There is probably something about the sound that irritates or distresses her (or causes her to be concerned for you). I used to have one of those brain-training games for a handheld game system, and one of the tests required calling out words or numbers rapidly. Whenever I did this test my cat Flame would get very agitated, trying to bat the game system or climbing in my lap to meow in my face. I can only guess something about my tone bothered or worried her. She only acted that way in that specific set of circumstances, just like your cat and whistling. :)
