You should get them spayed before 6 months of age, but not much younger. Some people will spay at a very young age but this is mainly for convenience when spaying strays. It is not to the benefit of the cat even when there is no harm done.

Every vet has their own opinions about when to spay a kitten. When we did animal rescue, we spayed at a very young age to make sure that the cats were spayed/neutered. Many people said they would for sure have the cat "fixed" and never did, so I guess it was for "convenience", but more than that to make sure the cats were not out there breeding. Take the advice of your vet as far as altering goes. Let them decide when your kittens are old enough and weigh enough to be altered. Since your kittens are so young, you should already be in constant contact with your vet anyway. God bless you for saving these babies!
