what is wrong with my cat
my cat has been making wierd hick cup noises that kind of sound like dry heaving. hes been sneezing often and he has a goopy eye. he has been keeping to himself and not playing with my other cat like he normally does. he has vomitted a few times also. he hasnt been eating that much either. hes been hiding in places he normally wouldnt. i dont know whats wrong with him. it sounds like a cold but im not sure. when he sleeps he breathes heavily but hes done it since ive had him, i just thought that was normal though because hes so big. hes a 1 yr old maine coon and ive had him for about 6 months now. im very worried about him and i just want him to get better. id like to know what im dealing with before i take him to the vet.

Sneezing, eye goo, coughing, vomiting, and decreased appetite and energy sounds like a MASSIVE respiratory infection and he should see his vet ASAP. If it is just an infection it sounds like it has gotten to the point where he -really- needs anti-biotic support to fight it off. Even if he's otherwise healthy he may need other special support to help him fight through this, and if it's as bad as it sounds your vet will probably want to check for underlying causes that made him susceptible to such a bad infection. Young adult cats can and do get little kitty colds, but in healthy indoor cats it usually amounts to just a few days of occasional sneezes; nothing on this scale in a cat so young but not a little kitten.
Please take this seriously and have him seen as soon as possible- if he stops eating before he gets his appointment he should even see an emergency 24-hour vet.
