Boo

what is the right wet food to feed Boo.

My Cat Boo, has a problem when eating wet canned food.
Minutes after ingesting it he vomits it up. He keeps his dry food down just fine. Is there a wet food that I can feed him that will stay down?

It might not be the food, but the way Boo eats. Dry food requires at least a little chewing then swallowing. If Boo eats like my Izzie does, then he pretty much swallows it whole, in gulps. The air trapped in the food "auto-reverses" on Boo and causes him to vomit. If you can, try feeding him smaller quantities of the wet food more often. I'm not sure if there is one, but the next time you go to the pet store, you can look for a wet food that's for sensitive stomachs. Not saying Boo has one, but most often these foods are lower in fats and additives that can cause stomach upsets. I feed my cats Science Diet for Sensitive Stomachs. If you notice any other signs of Boo not feeling well, call your vet asap.

Boo may have an allergy or sensitivity to a particular ingredient in the wet food he's tried. I would suggest that you try a number of wet foods, gradually introducing each new food, and see if you can isolate a particular ingredient that causes the vomiting.

Ralphie had chronic diarrhea as a kitten, and upon trying grain-free food, it resolved in one day. I've read that grain sensetivities are not uncommon in cats, and that was the problem with Ralphie. Later, when we introduced some new wet food options, the diarrhea returned in a milder form when he ate food with beef. Since determining his trouble with grains and beef and eliminating those from his diet, he's had no food-related digestive problems.

We have both our cats on an all-canned diet of high-protein grain-free foods, with a variety of brands and protein sources. I worry about the seemingly-constant food recalls, and want to make sure they have a good variety of foods they will eat and that their tummies tolerate well.
