If this was done recently you should use shredded newspaper or a littler called Yesterdays News. Please do NOT use clumping or gravel litter as that can cause the paws to become infected! Also, if just dne, it is not uncommon for there to be dried blood or light bleeding on the paws for a few days. Try to ensure the cat stays fairly calm for the first several days. The cat's paws will be tender and sore as it is a very painful surgery.

If it has been a long time, your cat should be able to use any litter. However, PLEASE make sure the paws are COMPLETELY healed before using regular litter!

I second that. Yesterday's News is the best for my little paws, but if you can't afford it, shredded newspaper is the next best thing. Remember, NO CLAY, NO CLUMP. It climbs in our little toes and gets nasty infected. It can cause serious problems for your little friend.
