What food is the best for cats?
I used to give Joy wet food but this seemed to rich for her and she got sick a few times. She is now on natural, Trader Joe's dry food. This seems to work well for her. Is wet or dry food better for cats?

A good quality wet food is far better for a cat as far as nutrition is concerned. Cats are strict carnivores, so get all their energy from Protein and Fat which is abundant in meat. Moisture is also a very important factor as cats are designed to get their moisture from their food (a trait that has been passed down from their wild ancestors), and therefore have a low "thirst drive" and will not often seek out water on their own.
A cat fed solely on dry food can get less than half of its daily intake of moisture. A cat in a constant state of dehydration can cause Urinary Tract Infections, Cystitis and other problems. However, owners can combat this by feeding more wet food and purchasing a water fountain or leaving a tap on to entice the cat to drink.
Hi there, My cat Scottie and Riley used to eat Whiska's Meaty Selections Dry Food. They have had no vomiting problems on it but, unfortunatley, Scottie had to have surgery to unblock his bladder after his bladder problems took over his bladder and completly had it blocked. They both now eat a special vet diet for his problems to control it instead of taking medication. When ever they eat wet food they throw all of it up and have dirrea. In my opinion, Dry Food is way better for their health. But other people may tell you differently. If your cat does better on dry food put him on dry food and if he likes the wet better feed him that. Hope I could help!
