Tried treating ear mites at home and now things are worse!
We rescued a kitten a few weeks ago, its about 4 months old. She had visible ear mite 'dirt' so I tried treating it at home today. Put a few drops of vegetable oil in each ear and tried cleaning her ears gently.
I got A LOT of brown chunks out of her ear but ever since then she has been scratching her ears constantly. She has made them bleed and she cries out loud every time she scratches her ears. Its breaking my heart I don't know what do to do to help her! Any suggestions??

She needs to be taken to the vet so that a professional can treat her. Self-treating usually isn't wise.

As the other poster said - she NEEDS to go to the vet for treatment. Home remedies and self treating is generally not advised... and can sometimes cause harm. OTC ear mite treatments are also not very effective. She may have an infection or ruptured ear drum on top of the mites. A vet will be able to treat her and get this cleared up. Cats with ear mites are miserable. Imagine microscopic little bugs crawling around in your ears. Hope all goes well at the vet!
