The smallest cat breed is certainly the Munchkin. These cats have very short legs, however they still are supposed to make GREAT human companions.

The smallest cat breed is generally regarded to be the Singapura. Tea cup or miniature cats are not considered breeds.

I saw this on CATS101 on Animal Planet. The smallest cat is the Singapura. They are so tiny. An adult male can weigh 3 pounds. They are so very cute and I would love to have one of them.

I'm pretty sure the Singapura is the smallest registered cat breed. Singapura females average 4-5lbs and males are not much bigger. There may be some teacup cat varieties that have smaller sizes, but I don't think these qualify as breeds.
