Separating kittens?
This is related to the previous post about Chibi nursing the kittens. They're four months old now, with two males and four females. They're a bit small for their age, probably because they come from a big litter, and are showing no signs of sexual activity, but the last thing I want to do is to have them start making babies with each other. I'm raising these kittens "under foot," and would like to keep them together as long as possible, but I think that perhaps the time has come to keep the boys and the girls separate. This means cooping them up in separate rooms or cages, though, and means that we can't all bond at night by sleeping together. I'm going to ask my breeder and cat show friends about this, and don't think it's a problem YET, but even if I keep them separate when I'm not able to supervise them, they love playing together, and I'd hate to think that I'd have to stop group play time. Again, we're a cattery; no spay advice, please.
