Rodent Ulcer?
Vet thinks Jack might have a rodent ulcer but the images I've seen online don't look like my cat. We are currently attempting another diet of Royal Canin peas and rabbit to see if it's a food allergy because the flare-up began after I changed his food. Anyone have experience with rodent ulcer? His upper lip is swollen. At one time they bled but now they just look crusty underneath and now he has a small white patch on his gumline that has gotten bigger over the last month. We have always noticed that he rubbed his mouth on everything and we thought it was a teething issue but he's over a year now and hasn't stopped.

I don't have experience with it, but I found an older thread in the cat health forum with a bunch of kitties who have it discussing it. You may want to join Catster and contact some of them: www.catster.com

I haven't had any personal experience with rodent ulcers but set up a Catster profile for Jack and there is a great group "Cats with Allergies" you should join. They will be able to give you advice on roden ulcers and allergies / foods.

I know you posted this a while ago, but my kitty Abbey has rodent ulcers since October. She is 2 years old. My cat also has some bare patches on her tummy though, and sores around her ears which is usually food allergy. I don't know what started her problems either, but it seemed to be after changing food, but she has always had issues. Did the problem go away, and what did you use?
