Regarding "Infection in abdomen after spay abortion?"

I neglected to add certain details. Metal surgical staples are usually used to close spay surgeries here in Japan, and I've never had a cat who had a problem with that. At the same time, antibiotics are prescribed after the spay--and I've had my girls done at more than one hospital, so I can say that this tends to be the typical treatment. DO go to an ER now!
