There are territorial issues at foot here! If you are not keeping the new cat separated from King, you must do so. Set up a little-used room with a box, food/water and a place for the new cat to retreat (such as under a bed). Close the door and give the two cats time to adjust to each other w/o seeing each other. I've heard rubbing both down with a dryer sheet to make them both smell the same can also work. It can take upwards of a few weeks for the cats to accustom themselves to each other, so don't rush it. Visit the new cat as often as you can to socialize it. You can also call your vet, who knows your King of the Hill cat, to ask for further advice.
