I am afraid I don't understand your question. Are you looking for a way to chose a pet sitter or are you asking if there is an alternative to hiring a pet sitter?

If you decide to go with a pet sitter, get a professional who is bonded and insured and get references.

Alternatives to a pet sitter include boarding facilities or your vet (if they do boarding).

If you have a trusted friend who's willing, they can also care for your pet. Make sure it is someone responsible you trust to take good care of you pets. They must stop in twice a day to feed the cats and clean litterboxes. They should also be willing to play with the cats and give them some attention. They should recognize signs of illness and injury know when to go to the vet.

If you choose anyone other than your vet, it's a good idea to leave a letter giving the caretaker permission to make medical decisions for you cat on your behalf while you are gone - just in case anything happens. Otherwise, if something happens, precious time could be wasted if no one can immediately get a hold of you.
