Litter box Recommendation please

One of my female cats pees standing up, usually against the wall. I've tried several different kinds of litter boxes, even hooded, but she pees through the crack. I got a clevercat litter box but she doesn't like it and is now peeing on the floor.

I'm in the process of buying my own place and I'm getting desperate. I can't have her peeing on the floor there (here either but the carpet is already ruined). I don't want to put her to sleep; she's eighteen but very healthy and I'm hoping that once we move, she won't pee on the carpet any longer.

The previous advice is good and arthritis is something that may be making her pee standing up if she can't comfortably squat down any more. Getting her a vet check up is a good idea.

A couple of other things yopu can try if sh edoesn't like the rubbermaid box is putting her litter box in the bathroom where there is a tiled floor that makes clean up much easier. You can also get plastic sheeting at the Home Depot etc that is used to protect the floor/furniture during decorating and is perfect for protecting the walls/floor around the litter box with older cats. I used it all the time when I had a similar problem in the past and you can put the plastic sheeting up against the wall and under the litter box, put some newspaper or an old towell under the box to catch any leakage and replace everything regularly.

I would suggest getting a Rubbermaid tote, cutting out an entrance, smoothing the cut with a lighter, and using that as a litter box. It will be tall enough for her to urinate standing up and no cracks to leak through. If she does not like enclosed litter boxes, you do not have to use the cover. At 18 she may have arthritis, so make sure it's easily accessible. They may be why she didn't like the clevercat litter box.
