kneading?

My cat, Regis, loves to cuddle all the time. I also love this. The only problem is his kneading. He's a rather big cat so he kneads very hard. So hard to where i have bruises on my neck! He even woke my boyfriend up to coughing from kneading on his neck so hard. I love my baby to death and I know he loves me, but is there any way to reduce or stop all this kneading?

When he starts to knead, try to redirect his paws to a pillow. I found that laying the cat on it's side (facing away from you) and putting a small pillow or stuffed animal in front of them may make them start to knead the pillow and not you. The important thing is not to "discipline" him. He is kneading out of love and contentment; and you don't want to send him the wrong message.
