Freckles lost her purr/meow for some unknown reason when she was 17 and my brother's cat Lizzi always had a really croaky meow. They were both checked out by our vets to rule out any medical issues like laryngitis etc. Since she's always been like this I'd just recommend asking the vet about it when you take her in for her annual check up/vaccinations just to confirm there is nothing to worry about

I do a funny little grunting with nose whistling in place of a standard issue simple vibration purr. It runs in my biological family- there were several other grunters. And there are other strange purrs like trills, quick forceful purrs that sound like pig oinks, and even purrs that are so quiet you need a stethoscope to really hear them.

If shes never been one to purr like a typical cat and has always done rhythmic grunting sounds when really happy you have nothing to worry about. But if she just started randomly grunting it would be wise to consult her veterinarian to rule out respiratory issues. Better safe than sorry!
