Kitten's sleeping place
Hi, I have 2 twin persian kittens at home. We completely adore these little sweet hearts but at night, we dont like to be disturbed by the kittens. I used to keep the kittens in my room and they would sleep on my bed or on the floor etc, but it made my room very very hairy. So we decided to get a house made for them. We built a very large house (around 7 by 7 ft). At night we put the cat in there but they dont seem to be happy in there.
What should i do?

Cats typically like to roam at night, and kittens especially get VERY hyper at night! It's possible that the house just doesn't allow them to roam like they would like to. Would it be feasible to just shut your bedroom door at night? That way, they can roam around a larger space.

After being pampered and loved on all day, thekittens probably don't understand the sudden quiet and lonliness of the night. Unfortunately, from what I understand of Persians, "hair" is something you'll have to deal with all over all their lives. If you plan to let the kittens have the unsupervised run of your house at night, you must examine your home from a kitten's eye level. Make sure that these two cannot chew electrical cords, eat plants, get inside a vent/wall space anywhere, get stuck behind or under anything, knock over and break family heirlooms, etc. Kittens are very curious and act in the moment. They don't know they can get electrocuted, stuck or otherwise endangered. Other than that, you may want to consider making their "house" more appealing with safe toys, ramps, tunnels, and so on that will keep them occupied at night.

Hair is a part of life when you have kittens/cats. :)
Along with the other answers, you can put old shirts/blankets with your scent inside the house to comfort them.

Have you tried 'bedtime play'? It doesn't work with all kitties, but my Human says it worked with me. Get good interactive play going about an hour before bedtime- fishy-on-a-string, Chase-The-Ball... They're all good. Then kitties get tired and want to sleep. Seven feet by seven feet is HUGE! But is it comfortable for a kitten? With hidey-nooks and cushy towels and pillows? Is it warm enough or does it need an electric warming pad inside? Does it smell like YOU? Or does it smell like paint and lumber? Try putting wearing an old sweatshirt all day and putting it inside so it smells like you.
