Kitten always with me, is this bad?

I recently rescued an orphaned newborn. He's not even a week old yet. I set up a box for him, with towels and a heating pad. However... I usually keep him with me. He seems very happy and comfortable with sitting in my bosom or in my lap. Is this bad for him? Will he end up too attached to me? Sometimes he cries when I try to put him in the box. ):

I wouldn't worry about the kitten being too attached to you. He is very young and needy at this time. The youngest I ever rescued was four weeks old. He would let me know at least every two hours that he was hungry, but your little guy needs you even more so at this tender age. You are his "Mommy" and he knows it now. Try to get him on a schedule of taking little "cat naps" in his box with the heating pad set on "low". Make sure the heating pad is protected with material that covers the entire pad and has a cord that can't be chewed on. They do make heating pads especially for pets. Hopefully you have had this little baby to a vet who can advise you on the proper nutrition for a kitten so young. God bless you for rescuing and caring for this little one. He will be so very grateful to you. All of my cats have been rescues (from 4 weeks to 15 years) and every one of them turned out to be the best pets anyone could ask for! Good luck with your new baby!

I echo everything our Guest said. They are obviously very experienced with caring for little refugees! Please do take the baby to the vet, or at least call, when you can. If it's very cold where you are, it's OK to wait rather than taking him out. You can also call a local rescue for information from their staff on how to care for a newborn. Unfortunately, we all have lots of experience caring for kittens of all ages and backgrounds.
PS--I also have carried orphans around in my bra. It's the ideal place!!!

your his mum and its much better for him to be with you at this stage anyway with him being so young as he grows up he will start to live his own life same as any other baby human or furry but they will always be very attached to their mammy! your doing a very special thing now both for yourself and kitty marco was 3 days when i got him his mum died the day before but i was very lucky because our local ISPCA vet lived only around the corner and kept popping in to check on him so while contacting a vet of your own i would also ring your localSPCA and let them know what your doing so you can contact them easily if you need any advice etc best of luck with your new baby let us know how you are getting on xoxox
