why is it that cats can either take you or leave you ?
they seem to have a more dominent effect over you then a dog would, they could even control a dog !
and when i got my cat i thought she was a girl but i took her to the vet and found out she was boy lol so i remaned him ! but anyway, i have always realized that cats dont like spending time with ppl and they dont like there tummys scratched, they r TOTALLY opposite of a dog, dogs LOVE ppl and would do anything for them. y r cats more "wild" and more "get me my food you slave" ?
i love luke very much but he kinda scares me lol
hes only 5 months and he still bites and gets into mischeivesness sometimes especially at night, so i was wondering will he grow out of his terrible 2 behavour or what can i do so that he not so "catnipish" all the time ? PS luke is the cat in the picture...i have to change his name on his profile !

Hi Luke,
My cats do like spending time with people. They greet me at the door, they both want to sleep near to me at night and be near me and on my lap during the day. My cats, especially Gump, do like to have their tummies rubbed -- Gump will lay there on his back and soak up the tummy rubs...Cats are different than dogs, but that doesn't mean they all don't like people, etc. They are all different too, like Izzie said. Actually, Gump is often dog-like.
Luke is still a kitten, and he will likely calm down as he gets older. You could be surprised to discover that he does like people and he might even like having his tummy rubbed at some point -- could be...
Enjoy!

I have 3 cats and they are all different personality-wise. Izzie changes from minute to minute! (I also thought he was a girl and he was supposed to be "Isabel" but got renamed Izadore) After 4 years of being a "ghost" around the house and hiding or sleeping upstairs all day, my Delilah has suddenly become a lap cat, or a "chest cat". She lays on my chest at night and falls asleep! If Luke still misbehavs and especially if he is biting, you need to be the pawrent cat and train him not to. Do not play with him with your hands AT ALL. Use a feather teaser pole or a laser light. When he nips you, tell him "NO BITE!" and walk away. Do not rub his belly if he bites you. My daughter's cat does that and always will, so we don't rub his tummy if he's on his back. Cats can be trained to "behave", but you NEVER hit or scream at them. Luke looks like a cat who knows he's the "Prince of the World"! If he isn't neutered, you need to get that done as soon as possible since that will calm him down

Welcome to the wonderful world of cats. We love them and they can still mystify us at the same time. Cats make you work at their friendship. Some cats like their bellies scratched, some don't. I do feel like a food slave at times. In time Luke will let you love him more and you'll see that he loves you in his own cat way. He will outgrow some of his terrible 2 behavior. Cats are just more independent than dogs, that's what makes them more lovable. You have to earn their trust and love. Give Luke toys to play with and spend time playing with him, just never use your hand as a toy because this will re-inforce biting behavior.
