Is my kitten going to be okay?

Yesterday, my kitten Socko got under my mother's chair and he hit his foot on something and it hurt him! Poor baby! Then, he began to limp. He acts fine now, but for some reason I still think his foot's a little crooked and out of whack. What should I do? I thought about taking him to the vet, but my mom said that that he'd be okay so we shouldn't worry about doing something like that. Should I take him to the vet after all, or is there another thing like any home remedy of some sort that we can do? Please help!

I would keep an eye on him to be sure he is eating, playing, using the litterbox normally. If he is not limping now, he may be ok after all. Pick him up and see if he will let you gently handle his sore foot without crying or pulling it away from you. Right now I am treating Blaze's sore foot with ointment from the vet and she growls, cries and tries to pull her foot away which is normal behavior if you are touching something that hurts them. If he does still seem to be hurting, there is not really any home remedy and he should see a vet. Above all, DO NOT try to give him anything for pain. Most human medications are very toxic to cats.

If your mother's chair is a recliner and he got his foot pinched when she put the chair up or down, I'd be tempted to take him in for an x-ray if he continues to limp, lick his foot or starts to act anti-social, which is what kitties do when they're in pain. Don't squeeze his foot or try to get it back into line if it does look crooked. As Allie said, there is no home remedy. Kittens are like babies and your mom's going to have to watch when she sits down that her "grandkitty" is not in the chair. (PS-Izzie LOVES to climb inside our sofa, but it's hollow in there so he can't get hurt. He will also climb inside my chair. He's a weird little kitty!)
