Is my cat pregnant with one ovary??
When my cat got spayed, but the vet said she only found one ovary despite looking for another, that was a few months ago. Now Indigo is getting fatter. (It isn't worms as she has been wormed recently.) She is also being unusually cuddly. Could she be pregnant? Or is something wrong??

If your cat was spayed, it's impossible that she would be pregnant. Think about it. When women have hysterectomies, we don't always get our ovaries removed unless there is a reason. We need our ovaries for hormones (and you need a uterus to carry a baby). As for a cat, the ovaries are usually removed along with the uterus during the spay procedure. If part of an ovary is left, your cat can actually act like she is in heat. In any event, I would take the cat back to the vet and have her checked out. Something else may be wrong.

I agree with Guest. It's not possible for your cat to be pregnant if she had her uterus removed. If she's being "unusually cuddly", she may not feel well. My heck-on-wheels grandson becomes glued to our laps when he doesn't feel well. Indi needs to have her stool checked as sometimes worming takes more than one dose. Watch how she eats. It's a myth that spayed cats gain weight. The only way they can gain is if they eat too much. If she is gaining weight and the vet can find nothing wrong, then you may want to consider ramping up her playtimes with you. Diet and exercise work for our animals just as they do for us!

in agreement with both other answers but i would like to add as she may have one ovary left it will effect her hormones and it is possible she might be having a phantom pregnancy pop her in to her vets for a check up and have a chat and see what they think.
