Is it odd for a cat to not like being swaddled?

Is it odd for a cat to not like being swaddled? It makes me wonder a lot about when she was a kitten. She was at the rescue at about 1 1/2 years old (shelter says she's two but the vet and I disagree) but nothing I see about her previous to that. I haven't really messed with it more than once. She was very much against the experience.
