usually cats eat grass when they have an upset stomach, this helps them relieve that and throw up, grass is not bad for them, dogs also like to eat grass, but i encourage you to take precaution when letting your cat eat any kind of grass(:

If your cats like to eat grass, google "cat grass seeds" and order some from the Internet. The grass is not hard to grow and it is much less expensive than buying a small pot at the petstore. You can buy wheatgrass seeds, rye grass seed, clover seeds, etc. I have grown them all for my cats and they love them. I would not let my cats eat just any grass as it could make them very sick. Cats do occasionally throw up when they eat grass, but most often it helps them get rid of hairballs.

I know cats like to eat grass and every time they do, they barf. Dogs do this too. I don't know why they do, but it won't hurt them to eat grass. They sell grass for indoor cats at pet stores here. I've never bought it, I don't really like picking up vomit.
