Is Cheech being territorial?

to cut a long story short,Cheech was adopted by us when he was approx 14 weeks old he is now almost 2yrs.Tempy is one of Dinos kittens and we kept her. In October last year she had to spend 6 weeks in a crate due to deformed vertebrae and a spine fracture.Since she has been out the crate again I have been watching how Cheech interacts with her and everytime she walks past him he hits her and scares her so much she goes outside or upstairs -all doors are open at all times and our cats have free roam of the house and a cat flap to go out when they want. Cheech has always been a loving cat towards me,my partner and Dino, he follows me everywhere and Tempy looks to my partner for the same comfort she rarely comes to me, however Cheech will chase her if she comes near me and when she moves from her comfy spot he goes and lays there and will not let her settle again.There are numerous blankets dotted round the house for the cats to lay on. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thankyou
