First of all, you need to make sure there are no more fleas on your cat or in your home. You need to power-vacuum everywhere, wash bedding, throws, rugs, etc in hot water. Buy some cheap flea powder and vacuum this up before you vacuum and then throw the bag out. If it's a bad infestation, you may even want to purchase a can of aerosol flea "bomb" from your vet's and, taking your cat and other animals, leave for a while when you set it. If it's REALLY bad, call and exterminator. You will have to Frontline your animals monthly to keep the fleas at bay. Once there are no more fleas in your environment or on your cat, the scabs from the fleas will use dry up and disappear. If your cat is scratching at them, ask your vet what to use. Don't use any human creams and/or meds on him until you get the OK from your vet. Somethings that humans use may make your cat sick if he licks it off. Also, it is a good idea when you go to the vet to have your cat's feces checked. Fleas can lead to worms.
