How do you all feel about cats and ducks?
I have two cats, which my female cat just had kittens, and I also just got a duck from my girlfriend as a gift. She knows how much I love babies so she thought it would be good. I was worried about my cats attacking the duck but they seem to get along just fine. My duck likes to lay with the kittens and momma cat. Do you think this is safe? I have pictures of the kittens and the ducks laying together if you would like to see more ask, I will put them up! Thank everyone for all the support and help you give, it really means alot to our family!

I don't know what to say about trusting the adult cat with the duckling unsupervised...but those are the CUTEST pictures!!!!!

Cats, ducks and chickens live on farms together all the time, and as the birds can be profit for the farmer, if the cats went around annihilating them, that would probably tend to pee the farmer off. But, I don't think I would quite 100% trust the mama cat alone with the duck baby. They can't fly or peck at the cat and those are their two major defenses. They also can't run and hide. I'd get a little carrier for the duck and put the duck in it while you're gone. Ducks can be great pets, but one of the reasons they stopped selling them so much over the Easter/Spring Season is that they do get big, dirty (all they do is eat and poop and if you don't have a clean source of water for them, you HAVE to wash them down at LEAST once a day) and can get rather mean if provoked. Start looking around now if you don't live on a farm and you think you'll need a home for this guy when he grows up.

We just got 4 chicken about 2 weeks ago. So far Trixy is not aloud around them. When we first brought them home they spent the night inside so we could make sure there area for them was all ready. Well the first thing Trixy did was jump onto the case we put them in. That scared everyone, it was like fireworks went off in our living room. I guess I don't really have any advise but watch everyone around each other. If mamma is fine with him then keep a close eye on the kittens with him. Hopefully everyone just gets along.
