how do i knnow when my cat will have her kittens?

we adopted a homeless kitty, then discovered that she is pregnant. she looks like she swallowed a child-sized basketball whole, she began looking for "nesting" places about a week ago, how much longer will it be before the kittens are born

It'll be any day now since she has started looking for nesting spots so make sure to keep her in somewhere quiet and provide some good nesting spots. If you can get her to vet they can probably confirm she's just about to give birth and make sure everything is going ok. If you haven't done it already start her on kitten food and give her as much as she can eat as it has more protein and calories and she'll need that while she is nursing.

Good luck and thanks for being so nice and taking her in. Check with your local SPCA or local rescues for low cost spay/neuter as they can do this in kittens as young as 2 months old so you could be sure they are fixed before you find the kittens homes. They may also be able to help you find homes for the kittens and get their shots etc especially if you agree to keep the kittens at your home.
