How do I handle my restless cat?
My cat is a very playful guy, but he recently broke his right front leg. He hates being cooped up and gets very bored. He wants to walk around and play with things, but he needs rest and I'm afraid he'll hurt himself when I'm not looking. Is there anything I can do to let him play without straining his leg?

You may need to contact your vet to ask for suggestions on how to entertain him. We don't know how badly his leg was broken or what instructions your vet gave you. I'd have to say though, that you can trust your cat not to do anything to himself that will hurt. As long as you keep the playtimes short and fairly calm, he should be OK. Try just having him "stalk" a toy for a short distance. NO jumping or climbing. There are also hollow-ring toys with ping-pong balls in the middle that could entertain him w/o straining his leg. But whatever you do, I would get the approval of the vet first and make sure his play is supervised. Hope he's better fast!
