It's possible for even a kitten to have a gum infection. But unless you brush their teeth with special paste made for animals, most animals do have some breath odor. From your previous questions, I get the impression that your dad is not quite on board with getting a cat. If you haven't taken your cat to a vet yet, you really do need to. Vets are great sources of information on how to be a "cat person", and maybe your dad has questions, too. The vet can answer your questions about the claws. They can check your kitty's teeth. They can neuter him. The vet can also help you socialize and train your kitten and speak with your dad as well. And, once you have a vet, if you have any concerns or issues, you can call and get a fast answer in real time. We are always happy to help out in any way we can, but we always suggest that your kitty has a vet on board to keep him happy and healthy and give the people he "owns" lots of good advice and help.

Generally as long as the teeth and gums look Ok, just using a Breath Spray will help. I recommend PETfection Breath Freshener because it is 100% Organic and Non-Toxic. It is safe for a kitten and will also combat the breath!! Hope this helps. :)
