hi i was talking to moggie about cuterebra

my cat acually threw one up and i took it to the vet to get it indentifyed. moggie told me they dont reproduce in the stomach. so is there a way to kill it inside of my cat its strange

You should let the vet that identified the cuterebra know that your cats seems to be itching a lot and whatever other symptoms you tried to write in your last question but got cut off.

Like I said before, they don't reproduce inside a cat. The cat picks up one, maybe a few eggs and they will hatch inside the body, try to find their way to a good spot just under the skin where they make a little breathing hole and hang out for a month maturing until the are big enough to emerge. The fact that she threw it up is really weird, unless she had it in her body, it emerged, and she saw it wriggling around and tried to eat it. You should check her body very carefully for wounds, and even if you don't see anything we would have her seen by the vet for the itching and other problems because if she picked up one botfly she may have picked up more, or if she was outside she may have other parasites you don't know about.
