Help! I'm vaccine shy!

My kitten, Coralie, is 13w old today and in 2 weeks she will be due for her second set of shots (her first set was delayed 3 weeks by pneumonia). The beginning of this month she got her first FVRCP vaccine and in 2 weeks the vet wants her to have FVRCP & Felv but said that he'd leave it up to me.

Here is my problem: Bella, (my recent Rainbow Bridge baby) got cancer from the Felv vaccine. It was very scary and stressful for both of us and it has made me very vaccine shy. The vet said its best to give her the 2 boostings then at a year and then never again so that she has some immunity but I really don't know. I hate to take the chance, you know?

She is declawed and won't EVER be let outside (not even on a leash) intentionally and I won't bring another kitty into the house.

Should she have her initial kitten set?

An indoor kitty only needs to have her rabies vaccine (where required by law) and the FVRCP series. They should be tested for FELV/FIV but there is no need to vaccinate them for it if they will never go outside. My vet never even suggested it for my indoor kitties. I have also read that there is some concern with a tumor developing when vaccines are given in the neck area. My vet gives all their shots in the upper rear leg area.

I agree with Allie, I have 6 indoor cats and they do not get that shot. My vet didn't even suggest it. There are some risks with the vaccine and no reason for it since she will be an indoors cat.
