Has anyone tried rags in a litterbox?

My two new foster-former-ferals still love to pee on anything fabric -- especially our comforters or any small towels that hit the floor. Has anyone tried making litterboxes with rags in them with any success? I don't mind doing extra laundry -- but I do mind my bed smelling like pee! I figure if I give them the surface they want in a way I want, maybe it'll help things. (No UTIs, btw - healthy kitties...just want to 'own' the place. :) )

You're right, What your cats are doing is marking out their spaces. If they aren't neutered, then they need to be asap. Make sure they each have a large litter box and maybe even one extra. I wouldn't use rags in the box. If that worked, someone would have marketed it already. The smell alone would make you loners in your neighborhood. If there is a door on your bedroom, keep it and others closed and keep all clothing/towels, etc picked up. Unfortunately, if the urine odor has seeped into your mattress, the cats will detect the scent and keep using it. A plastic mattress protector might cut down on the attraction but you may have to get a new mattress.
