Does my cat have rabies?
My cat has been acting wierd. He went outside about 2 months ago and got in a fight with a cat or a dog and got a chunk of his skin bit or scratched off. And just recently he got another one (bite or scratch) that looks exactly like the last one but smaller. Now he has been moping around. But the wierd part is that he has this gooey stuff on his lips. Its clear and when i wipe it off 5minutes later it is back. I when i first noticed yesterday and today it was the same and he was acting fine until i started askink him like "whats wrong" and stuff then he gets mopey. He looks sad and stops purring.
Sombody please help i am afraid for my poor little maxy.

This is an EMERGENCY! Get your cat to a vet NOW! Your cat cannot be diagnosed over the internet, but there is obviously something very wrong. ANY scratch or bite from an unknown animal should always be immediately examined by a vet. Ideally, your cat should be kept indoors to avoid such problems, especially since there seem to be other pets or possibly predatory wildlife in your area. Please consider keeping him indoors from now on. In the meantime, PLEASE get him to a vet. DO NOT DELAY.

Absolutely get your cat to the vet ASAP! I never heard of a cat having "gooey" stuff on its mouth. In any event, bites and/or wounds of unknown origin, need to be medically treated by your veterinarian. I hope that your cat is up-to-date on his rabies vaccine (even though no vaccine is 100% effective). Please do not waste any time. I pray that he is okay and will be feeling better soon. Best of luck to kitty!

Yes, this is an emergency. Not just for your kitty, but YOU. Rabies kills 100% of the time unless you get prophylactic shots before the symptoms show up. Rabid animals like to bite. I am assuming that you haven't been bitten yet, but if you are, go to a hospital pronto! And it goes without saying that your kitty needs a vet check ASAP.
