Did we give our cat seperation issues?

We went on vacation for 11 days and we kenneled our dog and left our cat home with a neighbor to feed/groom/watch him. We got home a few days ago and I noticed(along with my fam)that if we walk away or go into another room and close the door, he cries. A lot, until you come and make it clear you're there! I'm worried! did I give him seperation anxiety???

Maybe, but it's probably not permanent. We did the same thing-leaving for 4 days and Izzie became Velcro Kitty. Delilah just glared at me. Now, he's fine. At present, he's at the front of our house lying in the window w/o a care in the world. His behavior lasted only a few days. I'd suggest a few extra treats, playtimes, telling your cat about your vacation, that you love him soooo much, etc. Chances are, the neighbor came in and only spent a few minutes and George's nose is way out of joint. Some extra attention is called for and I'd be willing to bet all will be back to normal before you get the beach sand out of your shorts. 8-)

Hi, I used to worry the same about my old cat as the first time I went on holiday I had a very tough time as |I got a call saying she wouldn't eat and was pulling her fur out. After that whenever I went away (my sister would come and look after the cat for me) I would always leave out an old jumper that I didnt wear anymore, for me I found this worked as she would eat - even if not her usual amount and stopped pulling her fur out whenever i was away. hope this helps :)
