Concerned over her vomiting

I have a 4 yr old female who's very healthy. She's been spayed but beyond that has never needed the vet. She rarely gets hairballs, maybe once every 3 months since I groom her.

However, since the 17th she's thrown up 3 times. I took her on a 13hr plane trip on the 17th and she seemed to do ok. However now, every time I give her wet food she promptly throws it up. She isn't vomiting when she eats only dry food.

This isn't new wet food and she's never had a problem before. I've poked through the vomit and it's just the wet food.

I'm not going to feed her the wet food any more but do I need to take her to a vet?

I don't think this an emergency situation since she is able to digest the dry food w/o vomiting. I can tell you that Delilah throws up regularly, but it's usually hairballs. If she should begin vomiting on the dry food and do so several times in a hour or throughout the day, then I would phone the vet. Keep a close eye on her and if you notice any other changes in her behavior, then it's time to go to the vet. It's always a good idea for a yearly check-up just to make sure everything is OK.

Izzie's mom is pretty spot-on as usual with her answer.

Do note that cats can have finicky tummies and sometimes, cats can just get really stressed out after traveling for long or even short periods of time and being in new or unfamiliar places just like people can and this generally hits in the tummy department, again, just like people.

Watch your kitty's other behavior and if anything other a bit of nervous or fidgety behavior changes or she starts throwing up the dry food, phone your vet.

I hope your kitty feels better soon!
