We have tried the kitty cardboard toys and putting cta nip on it but it still does'nt work. Put this where Rocky scratches. Also, buy a cat scratching post and put it where the chair is. Put some catnip on it, and he should start using the post. There are all kinds of scratching posts, big and small. Some have carpet and some have sisal.
