I can only offer you my opinions based on my experience. I have used "ScoopAway" for multiple cats ever since I've had cats and I've never had any problem with them. It's not very dusty litter and I've never seen any of my cats refuse to use it. Some people will insist that scented litter is bad for cats and that's fine--that's their opinion. If your cat is highly affected by the smell of the litter, almost every pet store I know carries the unscented kind.

I feel that the dust level is worse than a scent. My Persians have large eyes and my Chelsea is especially sensitive so when I tried Fresh Step in all of my boxes it seemed like her eyes were red and much weepier than normal. If I give her a choice, she will only use Tidy Cats and stays away from the dusty boxes so I think she knows. Truly the healthiest litter for cats are the natural products like Feline Pine or The World's Best Cat Litter but I don't think it the fragrance, it's the sodium bentonite (clay) that is less healthy. However, having said that, even though I am very concerned with their health, I use Tidy Cats Scoop. They prefer it and it works good on odor control.
