Can I use my dogs earmite medication on my cat?

We adopted Shandi almost 2 months ago and one month ago she was diagnosed with ear mites. She was put on ear drops for 5 days. 4 - 8 drops each time. My cat is showing the same signs as my dog and we think she has ear mites. We dont have enough money to take her to the vet right now. Could I use the same ear drops in my cat only give her 2 drops each time? The cat is showing the exact same signs the dog did and she didnt have a problem until the dog came into the household. I am such a duffer. I just read the label and it says suitable for dogs and cats.

Call your vet and explain the situation. Tell them the label says it is good for both dogs and cats, and ask them what the appropriate dosage is for your cat. I am sure your vet won't want to see your kitty just for ear mites, especially if you already have meds for it.

NO YOU SHOULD NEVER USE ANOTHER PET'S MEDICATION UNTIL THE VET CAN TELL YOU WHAT IS WRONG AND THE VET APPROVES IT!

I agree. You should never cross-medicate until you are sure that what your kitty has IS earmites. Will your vet let you go on a payment plan?

I wouldn't do it without consulting the vet first. It might be okay, or it might not. You definitely need some guidance as to dosage.
