5 week old kitten short hair.

I have a 5 week old kitten. I notice 2 or 3 days ago it's lower front side lip seems swollen. Sure enough, looking at it closer, there is a small hard lump, about the size of a pencil eraser, on the front under side of the lower jaw, just below a canine. Inside the mouth, no apparent sores are visible. The lower canine above this lump looks to have a 'double'tip/point. The other canines are normal with a single tip/point. What could this be? An abnormal canine tooth? The kitten seems eat and act normal, but I will say, he is not as playfull as the others.

He may have an ingrown baby tooth, or is currently teething. Buy him a baby dog frozen chew toy from petstages (small size) and see if this helps. You need to take him in for kitten shots anyway, so bring this to your vet's attention when you bring him in (there are three sets of kitten shots that he needs, plus to be tested for FIV and FELV). Feed a healthy kitten-only food like MaxKitten (in the pet store) for his first year, and then he can graduate to adult food. If he's not eating solid food yet, mix dry in with canned and let it absorb the moisture before putting the bowl down. ^_^
