Hello Kitty Lucite Jewelry by Tarina Tarantino: WANT!

The designer's Pink Head Hello Kitty collection is bright, sparkly, and whimsical.

For jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino, sparkle has always been a part of her life. According to her parents, when Tarina first opened her eyes, they "sparkled like blue diamonds," and as a kid she dreamed of the day when making sparkly things would be more than just a hobby -- it would be her job.

A turn of the century styled Hello Kitty adorns this necklace.

Now Tarina sports a signature bright pink coif and creates whimsical jewelry inspired by the "funner" things in life. I first became aware of Tarina Tarantino's work in college, stumbling across it during a Hello Kitty binge (I was once very obsessed -- Hello Kitty toaster and all). For days I ogled her website, particularly attracted to her "Pink Head" Hello Kitty collection. My partner at the time took note, and surprised me with my very own Tarina Tarantino Hello Kitty bracelet. We broke up, but I still have the jewelry -- after all, Hello Kitty and sparkly crystals are a girl's best friend.

So pretty!

This is a hippie Hello Kitty bracelet.

I love these playful earrings!

With my own pink-streaked hair, I still love my Tarina Tarantino pieces, and just the other day I decided to don my bracelet. Turning the bracelet over and over on my wrist and reminiscing as I rode the bus to work made me wonder what new designs Tarina has today. I was not disappointed, and I found myself thinking, "Hey! I bet Catster readers would love this stuff!" (You all have very discerning taste, after all).

Should you feel like wearing Hello Kitty down the aisle, there is a bridal Hello Kitty.

Something a little more simple, but still fun.

Recalling the childlike aesthetic of candy bracelets, glittering with Swarovski crystals, and featuring one of the world's most famous cats, Tarina's pieces always make me smile. It's jewelry that looks good and makes you feel good. Want one of your own? Check out her site here.
