Thanks For Diary Pick Honor March 19, 2012!

Thank you my friends for surprising me with gifties, pawmails, comments and photos for my Daily Diary Pick! I was surprised to be chosen! On the other hand, it was a sad evening when I found out that our friend Boo Boo went to the Bridge yesterday too (http://www.catster.com/cats/1169201 ). Her sister was Moma Ivey who also went to the Bridge so recently, on January 9. I know their Mommy is holding all your hugs near to her heart right now with losing 2 kitties so close together.

I have a little update to Julie’s kitties she had to depart with, which I wrote about in my last diary. I previously thought her kitty Marilia was adopted because she was not listed on the Woods Humane Society Website, but she is there now. So 3 of Julie’s kitties are at Woods Humane, waiting to be adopted, and they are all pictured there now.
The cute thing is Marilia has made a friend already! One of her photos features her with Xavier, a black and white kitty; they look so cute snuggling together.

Beijo and Jules-Verne have photos now too. Jules-Verne has such blue eyes, he’d be a dream to have at home! I’ll bet Julie would be happy if anyone in Catster adopted any of her 3 kitties and gave them a good Catster home! They had a home to roam around in once; and now they are forced to live in a smaller space. I bet it is a lonely adjustment for them. You should go see how beautiful they are:

http://www.woodshumanesociety.org/

If you still would like your name & your Mom and Dad’s names written in a “Happy Spring” card and “Welcome to Your New Home” card for Julie, pawmail me your names by the end of March 22. We will write all the names in a card for her. We want Julie to feel a little less lonely now that she has had to give up some of her kitties, due to a careless landlord and the apartment building being foreclosed.

My last diary was long, but it has all the details about what happened to her & the kitties. Here is one of her Catster kitties, and from there you can see her others. In her family there is also the link to her dog, Beau, with a sad story too. But there is a nice picture of Julie with Beau. Here’s her kitty Tiny Dancer and from there you can see the rest:

http://www.catster.com/cats/1192923

Congratulations to the 4 other kitties who shared Diary Pick honors with me yesterday: Punkin (#1237909), Nikita (#945025), Mietz O’Maui (#937054)(who was also, as of yesterday, Cat of the WEEK), and Bentley Angel (#280901)(who was Diary of the Day)! I hope you all got treats and hugs and kisses all DAY!

Julie, Tiny Dancer and the Family

Maybe you have read about Julie in California having to give up 6 of her kitties when she was forced to move when the apartment she was renting had been foreclosed at no fault of her own. In finally finding a new apartment within her budget, she could only keep 4 of her 10 kitties. This would be a heart break; we could not even bear to give up one kitty; how lonesome and empty she must feel.

Julie had taken very good care of her 10 cats, and now has only 4 (in the end she has kept the 3 with the most serious disabilities plus the oldest cat which would be hard to adopt out) (she was licensed to have all 10 cats too, and received unannounced inspections, which she always passed).

Julie is disabled and on a very fixed income and the search for a new apartment, and giving up her LOVED pets at the fault of her dishonest landlord, has been a horrible experience. She always fed them the good brands of cat food while she would eat cheap food herself when necessary. This whole experience has been very scary and uncertain for Julie. On top of finding a new place for herself and finding homes for her 6 kitties, and now packing up her apartment, Julie is helping care for her mother too (taking her to the doctor, etc.). She is such a good person. We cannot imagine having to go through being forced to give away our loved kitties who actually make our home the “home” it is.

I do not want her to feel alone in this tragedy and I thought of something easy for you all to do, which will let Julie know that a lot of us care about her. If your Mom or Dad will pawmail me their name, or just their first name if they wish, plus at least one of your kitty’s Catster I.D. numbers so we can find you on Catster, we will buy a card, preferably a nice Big Card, and write all your names in it and all your kitty names that are in your family, and we’ll mail it to Julie.

It will be a “Happy Spring” type of a card. Now, Julie is still in her old apartment and she moves on April 6. After that date we will buy her a Welcome To Your New Home type of card, and write all your names in it again, and send it too. Just pawmail to me some time before March 22, as we live in Canada and when we send a card to the USA it takes up to 9 days or less. I would like her to get this Happy Spring card before she moves on April 6.

Or if you'd like to send your own card, even a little card, pawmail me for my address and you can mail the card to me & I'll forward it to Julie.

One of her disability kitties Julie kept, and you likely fell in love with him when he was Cat of the Day, is Tiny Dancer, who is at:

http://www.catster.com/cats/1192923

From his page you will see Julie’s other 9 kitties she once had (How sad! She had to give away 6 of them in the last 2 or 3 weeks!). Of these kitties, besides keeping Tiny Dancer, she kept the oldest one, Fuzz, and the other 2 with the most serious disabilities being Squint and Autumn.

Julie right now is unable to even look at their Catster pages because of the memories they bring back. I hope one day she’ll be able to give them a look again, but I would imagine that will be quite some time in the future. Right now this truly devastates her.

Graciela is now safely at a no-kill shelter called “Befriended Felines”. They will provide medication and sanctuary for Graciela for life.

The remaining 5 kitties were taken to the lovely Woods Humane Society, a no-kill shelter, where Julie was once a volunteer.

It appears that Marilia and Chief Red Cloud were quickly adopted as they’re not listed for adoption (we saw Chief Red Cloud pictured there Friday but he’s not now. Of course, being as cute as he is, I can understand him quickly being adopted).

Chief Joseph, a Siamese, was adopted right before Julie’s eyes, at the time she was bringing in a couple of her kitties; an older woman adopted him. So now, on the Woods Humane Society site, the only 2 kitties left are Jules-Verne and Beijo who are both listed (without pictures) under ‘Adopt A Pet’. Once you are on the page for all animals, use the pull-down menu and choose “Show Cats” and then only the kitties for adoption will be listed:

http://www.woodshumanesociety.org/

Every little dollar is well-used. A dollar can buy 1 or 2 cans of food; so necessary! Even here at the Woods Humane Society website you will see a donation button. They accept any donation, large or small, it does NOT matter how much; not at all.

What is also appealing is you can donate in HONOR of Julie’s cats’ names, Beijo or Jules-Verne. I know my Dad will donate; for this humane society to ease up some of Julie’s great pain, they deserve rewards.

Even though she could not really afford it, Julie made donations to this humane society with each cat they accepted. What has happened to her in the last few weeks, and to her kitties, is just so distressing.

Catster kitty Art Blakey kept us up to date in his diary; and I’ve thankfully got lots of this information from his diary, and have been speaking by pawmail with his Mom. If you’d like to read more on how this all happened to Julie, little one year old Art (“Artie”), who is a 3 legger, is at:

http://www.catster.com/cats/1186381

We just don’t want Julie feeling any more lonely than she will be now and always. We could not do this letting go of one of our pets; I know this has been agony for her! Because of her landlord, she has to have become a hero to endure all of this.

Again, we don’t mind at all if you pawmail us your names and we’ll write them all in these cards for her. And I know any small donation to Woods Humane would be put to great use; they are blessfully a no-kill shelter. If you’d like to help Julie more than this, just pawmail to us or to Art Blakey’s Mom and let us know.

Thank You All And May You Find Good Luck For St. Patrick’s Day!

Love, Ginger xo

JINGLE BELLS – A New Lyric

My Dad looked at me one day and half-sang this to me, to the tune of “Jingle Bells”. I was flattered, though very sleepy and hardly paid any attention! But it might be fun if you try these lyrics, to the tune of “Jingle Bells”:

Ginger Girl
Ginger Wrist
Ginger All the Way.

Ginger Girl, Little Girl,
Ginger Eyebrow Girl.

Ginger Girl
Ginger Nose
Ginger All the Way.

Ginger Girl, Little Girl,
Very Sweet Little Girl.

Merry Christmas to Every One of You!

Munchkin Is Back and Oh My ‘Diary of the Day’, Oct. 4,- 2011

[ Leave A Comment | 8 people already have ]

Oh gosh I wish I could thank every Catster kitty personally but I do remember your nice names! Thanks for your gifties & zealies and comments & everything, for my Diary of the Day honor on October 4!!

Tundra & Family and Pipo & Minko made me beautiful pictures for my page too!

The other lucky Diary Picks that day were Sleeper (#1172732), Nelly-Bell-May (#855526), Zack Frost (#1169986) and Pipo (#1079501)!

You might find me visiting your diaries in a day or two to say WAY to GO, because now I’m way behind and am trying to catch up! We don’t have high speed internet at home so moving around on Catster takes a very long time. You’ll likely wonder “Why is Ginger congratulating me today; she is days late!”.

When Dad got home last night, I was lying on the stairs and he said to me “Congratulations Ginger Girl, you were Diary of the Day today!” and I just stayed lying on the stairs, looking up at him with big eyes, smiling at him. It was a really nice smile! Usually I rush to the kitchen when he gets home, so I can eat!

But I think I knew that because my diary said I always rush to the kitchen, then tonight I decided to be the opposite and just stay on the stairs for a minute or two longer than usual! Finicky I guess!

Our friend Munchkin was able to return to Catster today! She’s a pretty girl and she is at:

http://www.catster.com/cats/1210188 .

A few months ago she had to leave Catster and she mentions a tiny bit of it in her diary. She often wrote in her diary and on Catster it’s difficult to get to know every new diary entry but we just like you to get a chance to meet a nice kitty who was able to come back to Catster.

If you have high speed internet it will take a second to drop in and see her. We don’t have high speed at home and each page can take several minutes, that is if the page (or browser) does not just disappear (which often happens)!

Sometimes we go and raid Dad’s office computer! (We put Dad in the Cat Carrier and drag him to the office; we want to write our diaries….No No, it’s not true; it’s just a dream; he drives there and types for us!).

If you’re lucky to have high speed at home, maybe you can say Hello to Munchkin, and ask her to be a friend, and make her feel just generally welcome. Welcome Back, that is! I’m sure you will. She’s very sweet; a pretty kitty.

Thank you all again!

The Maid May Serve The Cat Food

Do you know that everytime Dad walks in the kitchen, I believe it’s time to eat (again)?

When he goes in there, it must be time for another bowl of wet food, so I follow him (even though we have all recently eaten). He says to me, “I already gave her food in the kitchen”. But doesn’t the kitchen mean it’s an eating place? No matter how often you go in there, don’t you eat? I look around and then see Elsa, and then Tabatha, and Tyson too have followed me into the kitchen….every time.

Can you imagine how many meals a day I expect that I should have?

But from what he says to me, I find out that I was wrong. Or I guess I don’t understand English very well!

He just does not want me to ruin my figure (anymore than I already have)!

My Gotcha Day Too, Part Two!

July 22nd 2011 6:03 pm
[ Leave A Comment | 4 people already have ]

Thanks Catster Kitties & Familes for your gifties, comments, pawmails and the photos made for me on my Gotcha Day yesterday! I was a surprise for Dad on July 21, 2007 because when he went to the Humane Society just to only adopt Elsa, he found me irresistible and took me home too!

When Dad got home last night he petted Elsa and I both, and told each of us separately: “Happy Anniversary! I’m so glad I got you, honey.”.

Next, I did one of my usual things: sharpen my claws on a cardboard box! Elsa sat with her paws under her, waiting for the food bowls to be filled. She is going to be groomed on Saturday with Tabatha so their fur will be nice and tangle-free!

Then as the food was almost ready, Elsa and I were first in line to be fed!

There is a new Fancy Photo, with a red/pink frame, that Rory & Family sent to me, which I’ve added to my page; it’s so well-made and shows my ‘cute look’!

As mentioned in my diary yesterday, below is my thank you list of the gifts I got up till now; aren’t they Beautiful?

Thanks We Bees Siamese for the Gotcha Day photo you made me and your comment!
Thanks Rory for the pretty Red Heart - and for the Gotcha Day photo you made for me!

Cody, and Oreo, and the Bush Furs, and Anna and Jezebel sent me really nice Pawmails!

Red Adopt-a-pet Ribbon (so appropriate!!) from Da Tabbies O Trout Towne.
Red Adopt-a-pet Ribbon (really appropriate!!) from Beepers.

My Gotcha Day Too!

My sister Samantha recently had her Gotcha Day! Now, today is mine! Yes, on July 21, 2007 my Dad took me and Elsa home with him!

Dad is our Catster Secretary (I might sneak in something once in awhile!). And maybe you can guess that Dad needs a Secretary and that Secretary would also need a Secretary! Just to help us catch up!

I see some nice gifties and pawmails and comments I got, along with Photos from Rory and We Bees Siamese - Thanks to all of YOU!

I plan to do another diary to thank you more. But now Dad is going to work on Elsa's page. But first, he has to go to the Bank! And it's about 100 degrees here today, and he does want to go home to at least wade through the pool or something before it gets dark, or before a thunderstorm comes, based on the clouds in the sky.

Maybe he needs 4 or 5 Secretaries because if he's at the Bank or at the pool who will do our Typing!

Thanks All Again!

I Had a Birthday!

[ Leave A Comment | 5 people already have ]

Thank you all for the gifties & pawmails on my Birthday, just yesterday on May 9!

I love the pictures which We Bees Siamese and Tundra also made for me and I put them on my page!

My dad will always remember my birthday in a special way now because yesterday he was away most of the day; it was sad for him because he was at his Mom's funeral. She died May 5 so we have not been around Catster as often as we wanted to be.

He visited his Mom a lot during April, and every day since April 29. She had a stroke early in April and she got continually worse; he and everyone were terribly sad. Now he'll be helping to send out Thank You cards to people who sent flowers & stroke donations.

He knew it was my birthday at last, when he got home May 9 and checked into Catster; Catster keeps us all informed about each other!

Thanks again to all of you and I'll be out to check out your birthdays too!!

Making An Easter Wish

April 15th 2011 7:12 pm
[ Leave A Comment | 4 people already have ]

The talented Tundra made me a lovely Easter photo and I hope I look pretty trim in it (I wonder..)! Thanks Tundra!

Annie the Junctions Spokes Cat (#1002413) is letting me use her words from her Feb. 8/11 diary. I thought it was a nice idea she had and felt it should be shared in other diaries.

And Annie wrote more about her wish in her diaries of Feb. 9 and 10, 2011. This is the Wish which is beautiful and I'm making it my wish too:

I want to make a wish for Easter. I want everyone to post on their Websites, Facebook and Catster pages.

Adopt a loving friend from a shelter for your Easter furriend.

It will be a gift, that will be in their hearts forever. Easter Candy and flowers won't. A loving Fur will.

If you know a lovely person or if you have a Sweetheart, who would love to give a forever home, now is the time to take action.

Don't go to a pet store. Go to a shelter and adopt the best Easter gift in the world. There is no better gift on earth.

But PLEASE make sure that your gift will be WANTED. Take your sweetie with you to the shelter to pick out their gift. You can't go wrong. That is truly a gift that keeps giving. Worth more the all the diamonds and gold in the world.

Forever homes are so wonderful. Give the best gift ever.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE and Thank You Annie!

Love Ginger. xo

Humane Society or Pet Smart

April 1st 2011 2:53 pm
[ Leave A Comment | 5 people already have ]

Our Humane Society has had a renovation. Now, all the kitties are behind a kind of plexi glass window. But the cages have 2 or 3 levels so the kitties can climb up and down!

But the cats are not in cages with bars anymore. There is good ventilation though, because the wire bars are at the back of the cages which has a nice hallway back there so the cats can be fed.

But with these glassed cages, people can't just walk by the cats and brush their paw, or their fur. If someone talks to the kitty, it goes "Meow? What'd you say?".

However, people can tell the Humane Society which kitty they like, and go into a room and visit with the kitty.

But it's too bad there's no more opportunity for kitties to reach out through the bars, and choose (touch) their new owner (like I did! We work our magic that way and prove ourselves irresistable!).

So it is not as much fun visiting there as it used to be. The glassed cages makes it difficult to interact with the kitties.

Pet Smart still has wire bars on the cages and we like going there better; we can talk to and touch the kitties. And after visiting a few times the kitties there even recognize our voices! (Of course I don't really go there, but my Dad let's me know how things are!).

Do others feel they don't like the plexi glass cages too?

Love Ginger xo
