Well I certainly had a very sceery day last week. Last winter Mom & The Dad had the furnace replaced while the big rebate was still on, and I heard them talking about cleaning the ducks. Well I for one have never seen any ducks in this house, and I have lived here my whole life. Apparently, these ducks are dirty & they are contibuting to the dust in the house, cause the house was built in 1952 and the ducks were never cleaned. (I did not know that those quack quacks lived that long..) So Mom had these guys come & they had a HUGE box & long snake like things. I was in the living room on the top of the couch - Mom was not too worried about me, as I have no desire to run out the front door to see the outside world. She got Tigger & Smitty first into her room, but then Tigger remembered how to open the door, and they got out & strolled into the kitchen. Then they got tossed into the bathroom. But then once they guy took the vent covers off he needed to stick the snake thing into the duck (ewww) to suck out the dirt. (almost feel sorry for those dirty birds) So then Tigger & Smitty were put into Nana's room. So far so good, until they started this thing...the snake thing started to bang around in the poor duck, and the loud, horrible, ugly box made the most sceeriest noise! Mom went looking for me, and I ran into the kitchen to make a beeline for the stairs to the basement, but OH NO the box downstairs was making an even louder noise! I was so sceered that I crouched down almost flat on the kitchen floor - I did not know where to go! Mom picked me up and suprise -I clung onto her & put my head down to close my eyes on her shoulder. Now I love my mom & The Dad, but I DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE TO HOLD ME for more than 1/2 second or so. Mom felt so bad that I was shaking and she knew I was really really sceered. She was able to open Nana's door & put me in with the boys. It was fairly quiet in there. Of course the 2 of them were loungin on the bed with the "what?" look - but not me - I went straight under the bed & stayed there. I did not come out til about an hour after the duck torturers were gone. I got some extra treats & a brushie. But Mom says that after all that the ducks are shiny & clean and there shouldn't be as much dust - which seems to be the case. All I know is that dirty ducks are loud & sceery! I do not like ducks at all! I for sure do not want to try the duck food she got Tigger. NO WAY. So make sure to watch out for your dirty ducks - they are no fun!

thank you for the well wishes! Of course of all days, mom was busy baking all day with our human sister, so she did not go online AT ALL, and missed me being dotd!.. alright then mom, I best get a bite of something you baked!! NO YOU WILL NOT
Well, I did get into some trouble though. Mom hit a good sale at Petco, and had a bunch of coupons, so she bought a bag of Before Grain chicken that I eat, and a salmon flavor one, and another Instinct. Lets set them in the kitchen for right now, she says...She actually thought that she could put these in the pantry downstairs to have for the next few months. Silly silly mom...what's that you say? what is the crackling tearing sound you hear mom? OF COURSE I AM TEARING INTO THE BAG....OF COURSE I AM WATCHING TIGGER TEAR INTO THE OTHER BAG AND OF COURSE SMITTY HAS NOW TORN THE 3RD BAG. Did I stop them? nope....

mom here - arghh so much for freshness you little snots. So now I gotta dig up 3 yes 3 plastic containers for this food. Hope you enjoyed your little samples too....and you all think Santa Claws is still gonna come after this fiasco?

of course he will...purrpurrpurr (with a little whiskery smile & 1,2,3 winks of cute little kitty eyes)

So of course Tigger has been strutting around all week - he even took MY BASKET on the desk for a nap. But being the wonderful giving kitty that I am, I let him. Mom put up the decorations, and one thing I love to do, is tap at the lights by the window. I do not pull on them or chew, I just tap them against the glass. Mom thinks I like to hear the sound. I also had a bit of a fall - I tried to jump up on the ledge to get in one of the other baskets, and misjudged, and down I came with the basket. Mom was so upset - she checked me all over, & I seemed ok. But then I was limping on my left forepaw a little bit - I must have pulled it when I fell. She felt it all over & rubbed it. There was one spot that was a little sore, but I did stop limping. It is better, but Mom worried so much. Other than that, I have been sitting on the top of the couch looking at the pretty lights, listening to Tigger drone on about being COTW. Silly boy - he does not realize that I am queen of all ...mol

quiz I got 18 & some junk

I found this quiz while visiting my friend Cali's page, and it seemed fun. so here it is. Mom has been busy getting ready for Turkapallooza and has just been busy in general. She was sad when Boots got hit by the car. The Dad gave him a proper burial in the little field down the street by the tracks. Mom is sad to hear about Pounce and Jack the Cat too. So many of us at the bridge. Smitty did not feel good yesterday, and I watched in amusement as Mom attempted to give him a 1/4 pepcid. That cat can do the squirm quite well! All three of us need to go to the vet, we are past due. Mom is trying to decide if it would be lunacy to take all of as at once. I have a little soft carrier that is almost like a purse, and I am good (of course) but Smitty hasn't been in a carrier since a year ago.....so she says if they will give her a discount then we all go, if not, one at a time. Not sure I want tobe first, but I bet I will be cause I am the prettiest. Here is the quiz!

1. Do you make demands of your human? (If you answered Yes, give yourself 1 point.)
um I am the QUEEN so yes 1

2. If you make demands by doing any of the following, give yourself 1 point for each:
Persistent meowing 1
Biting 1
Smacky Paws as a demand? 1
Relentless staring 1
Inappropriate behaviors (i.e., chewing on furniture, electrical cords, the oven) I will flip stuff off the dresser until someone pays attention, and I have knocked some pretty big stuff down too. 1

3. If you make demands by doing any of the following, subtract 1 point:
Headbonking 0
Rubbing and purring on your human -1 ok I am a softie

4. If you let your humans rub your belly, subtract 2 points. Are you kidding? I will scratch you man I will

5. If you let anyone kiss your belly, subtract 5 points. Kissing is touching. ok the lips will be ripped off

6. Are you Head of your Household (HOH)? (1 point if you consider yourself HOH) heck yeah I was here first! 1

7. If you have kitty (or other animal) siblings, do you:
(Give yourself 1 point for each Yes)
Eat their food? 1
Demand that they groom you? I don;t want them near me!
Chase them? 1
Stare at them relentlessly? 1
Stalk them? 1
Pounce on them? 1
Make them meow? 0
Steal their (well, *your*) toys? 1
Make them growl? 0
Make their ears go backwards? 0
Pretend to be grooming (or staring at the wall, ceiling, etc.) while actually stalking them? 1

8. Have you ever destroyed household items?
(1 point for each yes)
Furniture? 1
Clothing or shoes? 1 jumped away from my human brother's arms and my claws put holes all over his fav t shirt - that will teach you to pick me up
Kitty Toys? 1 chewed a few up

9. Please list any other crazy things you do that are ridiculously feisty (1 point per).
1. Helped myself to treats, by locating the container and knocking it over to open it 1 I have chewed open a bag of food does that count?
2. Have come away with a mouthful of fur from each cat I live with 1
3. Pulled and ate a teabag out of the garbage 0

Total Score (Place your score/name in your Diary Title):

My Score is 7 COOL CAT

0-5 LAIDBACK LOVEBUG: You are a lovebug. You are sweet (and probably floofy) and you go with the flow. Nothing *really* bothers you and you like everybody. You don’t even mind having a feisty sibling! You are a laidback lovebug!

6-15 COOL CAT: You are one cool cat. Smooth with a touch of mischief. You’ve got a bit of feisty in you and a bit of lovebug. Balance is good; you know how to have a good time by chasing and pouncing AND you know how to have a good time by being a mellow kitty and just hanging out. You are a cool cat!

16+ CRAZY FEISTY: You are a nut. A cheeky little monkey! Crazy, feisty, the talk of the town! Chasing kitty sisters, demanding your human feed you NOW, eating your mom’s favorite pair of shoes, turning on the oven with your freakishly strong teeth just because you can! The world is your playground and you’ll try anything once (or twice). If your human can handle the shenanigans of a CRAZY FEISTY kitty cat, all is good! If your human cannot handle the shenanigans, wait until she leaves for work to get crazy and then blame it on your sistercat when your human comes home! You are crazy feisty (and a whole lot of mischievous fun!)!

Any kitty that wants to play is invited! Feel free to tag friends to find out just how feisty your friends are!

Well Tigger spoke about most of our happenings this summer. I can report that I am eating almost a 3oz can of wet food everyday. I used ot only eat 1/4 tsp, so that is very good. Mom says she notices a difference in me too, I am playing alot more it seems. I tolerate the boys pretty much, and I did even sneak up on Smitty & trounced him from behind, then took off! Mom laughed so hard at the look on Smithwick's face, she almost fell over herself. AHA! take that silly boy-cat. There was the dreaded water in the basement, and I had to even come down there to use the potty-box. eww twas not to my liking. So now we have to get everything put back to gether before Thanksgiving, as we always hold what is now called Turkapalooza. The Dad has a large family, and Mom & The Dad have a few "adopted" children that also come by, so we have 5 yes 5 turkeys. Last year it totalled to 70lbs of gobbler. We have one biggie baked, 2 deep fried & 2 smoked. The nice thing is that there is always enough for anyone to take leftyovers. Our number will be down this year, as some family won't be here. But Turkapalooza prevails. Mom was joking to the Dad that we if all else fails we will bake a turkey breast, smoke the legs & fry the wings!
I have enjoyed sunning myself on the screened porch all summer. Mom says I need to go to the vet for a checkup - I am past due. Not happy bout that, but I guess it is better to make sure you are ok. Mom took a bunch of pics all summer, so she will have to get her rear in gear & get them on here. I am tired of seeing the same pics on my page mom!!! peace to all! purrs, Maizy

It sure seems like yesterday I was a teeny kitten - you can see by some of the pictures we have posted. I am still a young chickie - I play and jump & am quite svelte! I am definitely an opinionated female though! Mom says how lucky she was that she has gotten to take care of me since I was but a little mite. I was quite talkative today - perhaps I know it is a special day. I mean BirdDays are great don't get me wrong, but a BirdDay cannot compete with the day you find your home. I bow & send many thanks to all my friends that sent me gifties & wishes today. It has been a long one - the serviceman was finally able to get here today for the air conditioner, so we finally could stop melting. I played so much with Tigger's catnip cigar that I am plumb wore out - so a good night to all! purrs, a happy grateful Maizy

thank you!

thank you ever so much for all the BirdDay wishes & gifts! We stopped in kinda late at Gumps party, but had some catnip ice cream. I got my favorite fish canned food. Mom says I really should not eat that one all the time, but I love it so much. I even got a tiny bite (sssh don't tell) of pound cake & licked a bit of the white icing. It was really only a teeny bit. I even snuggled by Mom all night too. I had a great day!

I am letting Mom write this entry for me:

My precious little girl. I cannot believe that it has been 6 years already! It feels like yesterday when you arrived here. So tiny & frightened. You couldn't even see yet. I watched you take your first little steps, watched you run. Helped you learn that the food would never be taken away. I still have the tiny fuzzy ball that you could barely fit in your mouth to play with. It had been so very many years since I had a kitty, and you sure put your little paws onto my heart. Sometimes I wonder how you got where you were found. Did your momma drop you? Did some varmint try & take you? All I know is that I am so grateful that the young man who found you brought you in, so that I could be your Mom. We have been through alot together my girl, and you definitely made a certain non-cat person into a cat person (The Dad) and you managed to twist him round your paw & bend him to your every wish.... Happy BIrdDay my little princess Maizy Cat.
Love your mom

ps Tigger & Smithwick wish a happy birdday to you too. Except Smitty asks please if you could not hiss at him quite so much.

a new revelation

Wow I actually kinda like wet food! I now eat almost 1 1/2 oz for breakfast, and the same for dinner. I am still getting a kibble lunch - Merrick BG chicken. But that is pretty darn good for a girl that would only eat about 1/2 tsp of wet at night in total for the day! The funny thing is that the past few days, I have been especially sproingy & even more playful. The Dad even said that maybe it is from eating more wet food. So it can happen, even with a more reluctant girl. I may not get all the way over completely to wet, but Mom says that if it is 3/4 wet that is pretty whiskering good! We are hoping that the weather will cooperate so that the plastic can be removed from the screened porch. Mom had a few of Nana's odds & ends stored out there, so she did not want them to get wet, and it has been rather chilly after our heatwave, but I love to sit out there & watch the outside from the safe side of the screen! Tigger seems to be doing much better. Mom says he needs to eat more, and I know he wants some when I get my lunch. Mom has to close the door while I eat so he is not as tempted. I have also been borrowing Smitty's cardboard scratcher. I love it. You must sit on it & then scratch cause it will slide. Mom only got a cheapie one in case it didn't go over well with us, but we all use it. Poor Tigger has not figured out that he must sit upon it, and he slides all over with it. So I overheard The Dad tell Mom this morning that they must purchase a larger one for us! Meowska!! SO for now I shall go & take my beauty nap, and hope at the next post things will bring even better news. and well, now I just knocked Mom's coffee cup off the desk, and it broke & spilt coffee all over the place - and it just HAD to be one of Nana's cups eek - so my assistant must clean it up as I supervise. purrs, the princess
