My First Video!

Mom put up a video of me playing with the yarn while she was crocheting a collar.
What do you think of my video? She says if I would floss with the yarn I wouldn't
need a teeth cleaning! Silly mom! Crocheting was painful but if she paces herself
it may be quite possible to make Tranquility Blankets even!

If you or your doggie pals have "issues", you might try a "Calming Collar", made with herbs. Here are just a few things they can help:

*Separation Anxiety, *Fear of Thunderstorms and other bad weather, *Fireworks or other loud noises, and in most stressful situations like a *Trip to the groomer or to the vet. There are *Anti- motion sickness collars. These will help stop your pet from getting motion sickness when traveling in a car or other moving vehicle. *Barking (dogs) and over-excitemen, *General Anxiety, *
Hey! Ellen Degeneres mentioned them on her talk show!
You can check out the FB page and the separate website:

And please thing about taking over as Manager of the Get Well Purr List. (Boxie Brown needs to retire. Takes about 2-1/2 hours per week. If you are interested please contact BOXIE BROWN. Here is the link for the List in the Forums: Hazel Lucy's List for Kitties in Need of Purrs (Boxie renamed it for HL who started the List in 2006)

AND.... please keep SAMOA in your purrs. The vet found a mass in her abdomen and we're upset and worried. Samoa's mom has helped a lot of kitties through the years with fundraisers and auctions and has really cool ideas about everything! She's also helping with the auction for my toofies!

So, this is one super-long diary and I hope you read it!

Sadly, BOXIE BROWN has to retire from managing the Get Well Purr List

Here is Boxie's diary entry:
Hello everyone! It has been two years now since I have gone to the Bridge and a bit over three since I took over the Purr List. I feel that I can no longer do the proper justice to the Purr List. I am looking for a volunteer to take over the Purr List. It takes a good deal of time and is a huge commitment so please ensure that if you are interested you are able to make the time commitment. You will need to have no less than 2-1/2 free hours per week to cull the list, email cats on it to update their status, and add new requests. Through the years this List has helped hundreds of cats (and a few dogs) through tough times with the help of your purrs. It is truly a labor of love.
Please pmail BOXIE BROWN if you are interested in this very important position

Hazel Lucy's List for Kitties in Need of Purrs, formerly called the Get Well Purr List. (Boxie renamed it in honor of HL who started the List in 2006)

thank you,

This is a Scoot-Free Zone!

Well it's all over now so that's good!
I scooted on the beige rug the other day. Mom says "uh oh". Then I didn't use the litter box for a whole day. Mom worried. It's not good having to be sedated for every thing, plus the expense!

So mom put her hands on me and said prayers. Then she massaged my belly. She had a small bottle of Lactulose and put that in my food 3 times. The next morning guess what I did???? Yep, my business, pretty as can be. I've been playing like crazy since I feel so good!

And my guardian angel, Hazel Lucy is a DDP again!

Everything turned out ok in the end! No more funny jokes!

happy again,
Mazel

Morning Update on Margo RKN

From Margo's mom:
"Margo is doing great - I am so pleased! I can see it in her body posture. She has stretched out fully to sleep, and she hasn't done that in quite a while. The cortisone did make her restless. She didn't sleep too well, but more likely because I couldn't sleep."

If the next few days show this injection to be effective then Margo will go back for a longer-acting cortisone shot. Not sure how long that means, but to know that Margo doesn't have pain is wonderful. Continued purrs.

happy Mazie

Update on Margo RKN

Margo is home. The handsome Vet gave her a steroid shot that should last 4-5 days. He thinks it's something pressing on a nerve, but he does not have a high-resolution X-ray, so the one he took didn't show anything. If the shot helps her he'll give her a longer-acting steroid shot. If it doesn't then she'll have to go to the University Vet Clinic. Laura-Lynne and Margo both like this vet. If she goes to the University Clinic she'll have a CaT scan.

Mom called Margo's mom and heard Margo talking in the background.
I sure hope and purr that the shot gives her relief. Margo's mom is very grateful for your purrs and prayers.

still worried,
Mazie

Margo RKN is sick

I had a quiet day celebrating with mom my 2-year anniversary of living in Purrsville. Then I heard scary news:

Oh no, sweet 3-legger Margo RKN is in tremendous pain. It hurts her to use the litterbox and she can't move her tail and she is limping. Margo is 9 years old now and we think the old injuries are causing nerve and bone problems. She has a ride to the vet today (Tuesday) if they will give her an emergency appointment.

Margo truly is RKN (Registered Kitty Nurse). Her momma has diabetes and Margo alerts to high and low glucose levels. She has literally saved her momma's life several times.

If you want to help Margo please pmail me. Here is Margo's blog:

Today is My 2 Year Anniversary of Living in Purrsville!

I've been living in Purrsville for 2 whole years!
It's a pawsome place, everything here belongs to me! The beds, the cat tree, the rug, the mom! Yep, life is good. I like to wash mom's face and hair. I hold my tail high and twitch it because Mom loves me and I love her tons. I have my own food court! All the toys are mine, Mine!

Thank you Hazel Lucy, Buddie, Catsy, Sky, and a hundred other angels for letting HL's mom know that I needed her. For years she planned to to a local shelter to find a cat when the time came, yet, within 24 hours it was set that I would live with her. I'm grateful all of you came together to make this happen! Truly, this was a miracle from above.

happy Mazel (Mazie)

* * * * * * * * * *
Today is the 2-Year Anniversary of Mazie coming to live with me!
She has made fantastic progress. She is completely content and a super-affectionate cat. Mazie is very attached to me. Her special places are: in her heated cuddle cup, in her Morgan bed on the couch, under the bed on a pile of blankets, on the shelter-size Tranquility blanket on the beige rug.

Mazie walks to her food court and sits quietly and politely for food. She gives me about a hundred headbonks a day. The Mazel is smart and reads my mind. If I even think about nail clippers she gets a look in her eyes! This cat cannot be fooled, no way, no how. It's almost scary! I'm honored to be her mom. Thank you, Catsy's mom, for trusting me with this special and wonderful cat!
