Thank you to everyone for stopping by to celebrate with me today! What a surprise it was to be chosen Diary of the Day!
I have been eating all my meals and that makes mommy happy. Unfortunately, Tasha stopped eating this morning. She did not want her breakfast or her lunch, not even her lysine treats! I offered to eat them for her, but mommy would not let me.
Things you should know about Tasha: food is very important to her and she does NOT skip meals.
Off to the vet Tasha went. She got and antibiotic shot and fluids just like me, but she also got some Metronidazole to take at home because she had runny poo this morning.
We will have Tasha's results back on Friday. We both ate dinner tonight, so we are on the right track!
Happy Turkey Day!!!

Firstly I would like to thank you all for your kind words and purrs! It means a lot to me and mommy.
I ate all of my lunch and all of my 1st dinner today, plus mom gave me a treat of turkey baby food (no garlic or onions) mixed with pedialyte, and I slurped that up! I think mom even added some pedialyte to my food, but I can't be sure ;)
If mom had not been such a faithful reader on Catster, she probably would not have realized how important it was to get me into the vet so quickly~ after all, I was acting completely normal otherwise, and it could have easily been chalked up to me being picky. She is so grateful for all the information here!!
Paws crossed~ the antibiotics and fluids will work and I will be fine.
Wishing you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving!

On Sunday mommy noticed I really was not into my food. I have been eating slower than Tasha, and not quite finishing.
Sunday night I decided that I did not want my dinner and then Monday morning I only ate half of my breakfast. Mom started to worry. When she brought me my lunch, I refused to have any of it. Mom called the vet and brought me in.
I did not have a fever and everything seemed to check out okay, so Dr. Lund recommended a convenia shot, fluids and bloodwork.
After my vet visit, I ate most or all of my two suppers. This morning I ate a little more than half of my breakfast.
Dr. Lund just called with my test results:
No pancreatic or kidney problems. I was dehydrated. My white blood cells were elevated and my cellular lines showed "toxic changes", which means they were being overwhelmed. Dr. Lund says that a bacterial infection was brewing and that it was a good thing I came into the vet.
Dr. Lund thinks that the convenia shot and fluids should do the trick and I should be just fine, but mommy is still worried about me.

It's my 3rd Birthday today!!
It did not start off so good for me, I threw up my breakfast :(
Mom gave me 2nd breakfast though so I would be strong enough to enjoy my day!!
We got a toy called Undercover Mouse, and I like it because I can play with it as much as Tasha. Tasha tends to hog most toys we get. This toy moves around unpredictably so both of us can play at the same time!
Thankees to all of my friends who have sent Birthday wishes and prezzies!

I went to the vet today and they confirmed that I have mild asthma. They took x-rays that show inflammation on my bronchial tubes. The vet gave me a Dexamethasone injection that will help with my inflammation and I have to take Clindamycin drops for a week, that is an antibiotic.
Basically mom needs to keep an eye on me just in case I get worse, I don't have any other symptoms except for my occasional asthma attack, so mom is comfortable with just playing it by ear for now.
I am really glad to be home again, I am gonna take a nap at the top of the cat tree ;)

Over the years I have noticed TT having some sort of breathing spasm, as if he was trying to cough up a hair or something. It even happened when he was in the exam room at the vet once~ I was excited that it happened there, and then disappointed when the vet had no idea what it was (we have since switched vets).
It does not happen often at all, and I have been trying to catch it on video to show the vet; no success yet. Today I received the following in an email from Modern Cat, there is a video showing a cat having an attack:
Diagnosis: Feline Asthma
I had never considered that it might be asthma. TT does something very similar to the cat in the video. I am definitely going to talk to his vet about this~ but I wanted to share this information with you guys.
Also, if any of you are dealing with this~ please let me know.

So, when you see your mom pointing the camera at you, you are supposed to stop what you are doing (no matter how much fun) and go to her right??
That is what I always try to do! We were having a quiet afternoon here yesterday, mom was baking a cake and playing music when she heard my playing, and caught some of it on camera: Me Playing

Well, today did not go as I planned AT ALL!
This morning- mom would not feed me breakfast! I kept trying to show her where to go, but she kept doing something else- anything but feeding me... Next thing I know, she puts me into the carrier and daddy brought me out to the car- I'm thinking: This can't be good.
Off to see the vet. Daddy just left me there- all by myself. They cleaned my teefers, but that's not all- they stole one!! I am now missing one of my back teeth! The vet said that I had a cavity. They gave me a Convenia shot (antibiotic) to protect me, and daddy came to pick me up at 2:00.
I am now at home- so happy to be home ;) I don't ever want to leave here again!

Mommy and daddy brought Tasha and I to the vet tonight. Tasha put up a heck of a fight, but that is not my style- I just tried to stay still and hoped that they would let me go soon.
I got a lot of compliments! I weigh a whole pound less than Tasha, she is 10.2, and I am 9.2- even though I am bigger than her. The vet said I am athletic, and my fur is bunny soft.
The vet talked about my bad eye, she said it was the herpes virus that damaged my eye (it has been that way since I was born). She said it will never look any better- and mommy & daddy are okay with that, they don't even notice it anymore. The good news is that it should not get any worse. They also checked my teeth- and they don't look good... I developed tartar on my teeth at a young age-- and the vet said that the tartar is related to my herpes too. Tasha's teeth are remarkably clean, but I have to go back to the vet on 17-February to have a teeth cleaning. After that, mommy is going to be brushing my teeth more often- she is going to aim for every day.
I am so happy to be back home- I'm gonna go play fling-ama-string now! Wish me luck for my teeth cleaning!
